About the team

The team plays the Regular Season games in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League. The league has teams from Windsor to Kingston and North to Midland. The loop that we will play in will be announced later, but all teams in our loop should be within approx a 1 hour drive.

Tournament Champs

The B&B Golden Hawks have won 2 tournaments this season. They won in St Catherines in November and Orillia in January.. Details can be found in the season Archive. Click the photos for a larger view

Provincial Championship Weekend Results

Game 1 vs Leaside Wildcats - W 1-0
The B&B Golden Hawks matched up against one of their playoff rivals, Leaside Wildcats, in the opener of the Provincial Championship weekend. Like all games played between these 2 teams it was another close game. The Golden Hawks scored the only goal of the game midway through the 2nd period. Tayler put home the winner from the long scramble, assisted by Kendra. Leaside pressured the Hawks in the final minutes of the game and kept the Hawks hemmed in their own end. They could not tie the game despite several good chances. The Golden Hawk goalies shared the shutout. Laura started the game and came up big just prior to the Hawks go ahead goal. Alyssa finished the game facing many shots in the closing minutes.

Game 2 vs Kingston Ice Wolves - W 2-1
The Golden Hawks faced the Kingston Ice Wolves in the 2nd round robin game. The teams were rushed out on the ice 30 minutes early, only to wait for the refs to arrive at the scheduled time. The Hawks scored a couple of goals from shots that generated rebounds to build a 2-0 lead. Courtney scored the first, after Nicole took a long shot that bounced off the Kingston goalie. In the 2nd period, Jill took advantage of a scramble that couldn't be controlled, assisted by Tayler. The Ice Wolves pulled within a goal with just over a minute remaining but couldn't get close on the equalizer. The game ended with some high spirits from both teams. The in assured the Hawks a spot beyond the Round Robin.

Hawks Fall in Final

Mar 24th vs North Simcoe Capitals - L 3-0
The Golden Hawks outshot the North Simcoe Capitals for a 3rd straight game in the final series of the Central East Championship. However, this time the Capitals kept the shots from the outside and long range and deserved their victory over the Hawks. The Capitals built a 2-0 lead on goals in the first and second period. They added a late empty net goal and advance to the LLFHL Championship weekend.

Golden Hawks Pull Even

Mar 18th vs North Simcoe Capitals - W 2-1
The B& General Contracting Golden Hawks bounced back to even with the North Simcoe Capitals in their Central East Final. The Golden Hawks outshot the Capitals by a wide margin again, but managed the victory this time. The Hawks scored 2 goals 90 seconds apart late in the 2nd period. The Capitals tallied a power play goal with just 17 seconds remaining in the same period. The Hawks shut down the visitors in the final period and did not allow a shot on net. Tayler and Mackenzie M scored for the Golden Hawks. The winner of the series will be decided on March 24th in Midland.

Hawks Down One in Final

Mar 10th vs North Simcoe Capitals - L 3-1
The Golden Hawks had one of those games where the bounces didn't go their way in the opener of the Central East final against the North Simcoe Capitals. The Hawks had the balance of play, including outshooting the Capitals 25-10, but came away with the loss. The game was scoreless until late in the second period, when the Caps pulled ahead. The Hawks answered 11 seconds into their first power play, early in the third period. Jill, scored after a point shot Mackzenzie K, and also assisted by Katie. The home team took advantage of their chances the rest of the way and took the game and the series lead.

Provincial Qualifier Wraps Up

Mar 7th vs Aurora Panthers - W 3-1
The Golden Hawks finished up their qualification for Provincials with a 3-1 victory over the Aurora Panthers and an undefeated record through the 4 game round robin. The game was scoreless at the midway point when there was a long injury delay. When the teams returned to play, more scoring chances opened up. The Hawks capitalized on 2 power plays. Jill scored 2 goals, and Kaitlin got the other. Assists went to Kendra, Makenzie K, and Brianna.

Hawks Advance to Provincials with Win Over Stars

Mar 3rd vs Markham-Stouffville Stars - W 1-0
The Golden Hawks scored in the first period and held on to the lead throughout the game to post a shutout victory ovver the Markham-Stouffville Stars. Courtney scored the only goal, assisted by Kaitlin and Emily. Laura earned the shutout. The win assures the Hawks a spot in the Provincial Championship weekend
